My friend recently started a business and purchased machinery that requires a specific pre-set word to be used as the username and password. The vendor instructed that the router’s username should be changed to this exact word. However, when I contacted Airtel, they informed me that their router usernames always begin with “Airtel” and cannot be modified. Is there any possible solution to this?

It happened with me last year when I took the connection as well, I could modify the SSIDs from the router login/admin page, but a firmware update ruined that as well.

In the end I gave up and started using my own router by putting their router in bridge mode.

Yes you can enable guest mode from router and change secondary SSID with Airtel prefix.

Now you will have two SSID primary with Airtel prefix and other without it.

But you have to do it from router settings directly, not from app.

All their router models work different and sometimes get reset randomly when airtel pushes updates.

Better permanent solution will be to get another after market router and configure the required SSID for machine. Keep it seperate from other devices for better security.
