Hi,I have a BSNL DataOne connection and I work from home. Yesterday the DataOne server was under maintenance and I could not work. I am thinking of getting an BSNL EVDO device as an alternate backup to my DataOne connection. I would like to know if the BSNL's EVDO server is connected to the DataOne server ie if the DataOne server is under maintenance, will the EVDO services be disrupted too ? Are the services independent of each other, or they dependent on the same server ? Should I go for an alternate EVDO provider ?

yes both are independent systems. but some where down the network, both connections data goes through same routers. so if there is issue with bsnl network routers or ISP from which bsnl buys bandwidth, then both the connections will be effected.so my advice would be to get evdo datacard from different operator

Instead of a EVDO connection - I would suggest you get a BSNL 3g as backup. Since this is only for backup you can possibly have the basic minimum plan and you will also get good speeds.
