Can the D-Link DSL 2750U be used as a router, without using it as a modem?

I have a question about the D-Link DSL 2750U. I would appreciate any assistance.

Here's my setup: I have Tata Docomo wired broadband service. I use a Primatel ADSL 2/2+ modem (this device is modem-only, no router).

I have ordered a D-Link DSL 2750U.

Can I connect the D-Link DSL 2750U to the Primatel modem, and use D-Link DSL 2750U as a router?

Yes, I know that I can use the D-Link device as both modem and router, but I would still like an answer to my question.

Thanks!

I don't mind keeping the DSL modem/router. I just wanted the WiFi to connect the phone and the tablet.

Although I wish the manufacturer wouldn't disable the functionality of using it only as a router ...

Ah okay, thanks. I should have asked the questions before buying the product.

Anyway, I still have the option of returning it. I bought it from Amazon.

These are the modem+routers I found:

TP-Link TD-W8968
TP-Link TD-8960 ADSL2+
TP-LINK TD-W8961 ADSL2+
Netgear D1500 ADSL2

Could you give me suggestions? I guess you meant TP-Link W8968?

Sorry my bad it was a typo I have corrected my error. 8968 seems a better choice but there are 4versions of it and I guess V4 is the best(pls confirm it on forum). It can share a 3G router as well as printer and USB storage too.
