can't able to connect through cables

hi,i m from Mumbai Mandvi exchange. i recently purchased MTNL triband with wifi modem. i m not able to connect through cables though wifi connectivity is working absulutely fine. do i need to change any setting? can anyone here help me out, i m a beginner.thanx

when u connect the cable to your laptop then what happens???does it show limited connectivity?

it depends how the wifi router is configured.if its dynamic ip then you need not do any setting on lan but it its manual IP then u need to put IP on your lan card
