I was just wondering. Do you think that these dudes can solve a single case if there were no CCTVs?
 
The show is mostly alive because of the chemistry between the lead. Murder cases are just timepass at times. lol. But first four seasons are good.
 
I guess, will decide after watching a few more episodes, just watched 4 so far.

Mentalist had the Red John background in addition to the lead pair, and from the episodes I have seen, the focus is purely on the leads, whereas Mentalist used to focus on the other 3 in the team plus a bit on their Boss(es) as well...
 
lol. watch it and see if my storyboard matches most of the episodes of the first couple of seasons :D
 
Lets see.. Mentalist had me interested mainly due to the Red John storyline, otherwise also, it too had some level of predictability. Simon Baker's antics, Red john storyline, focus on other characters lives including all the former bosses including my favourite "LaRoche" meant that the show had something different to try every time. They had him having memory loss, flashback to the protagonists meeting the first time, Patrick Jane meeting his conned victims, meeting old rivals etc, they helped keep things be a bit different always..

Castle is mostly lightweight comedy with likeable characters and an annoying love story.
