Hi all,
I have installed compact CCTV cameras at strategic points across the house on my own. The cameras are from JMK brand with cost less than Rs600. Some extra wiring cost may come depending on the lengths used. But private security companies charge more than Rs7000 for installation...So see the difference.
Website of JMK, a Hong Kong based security and CCTV camera company (Remove spaces in the URL): h t t p://w w w.jmk.hk/

These cameras have direct AV (Audio-Video) Out which can be given to our existing CRT or LCD television screens or DVR, Computer, Laptop with TV Tuners, or Video Input etc. There is a choice of PAL or NTSC video output too.

The power consumption is 0.2W and the required power source is 9 Volts, 500mA. But I am using rechargeable Lithium-ion batteries charged by Solar panels, so do not have to worry even if power fails, I still have CCTV system working.
Video Output Resolution of PAL: 628 X 582 and NTSC: 510 X 492

Source where you bought it from?
I bought it from a place called Manish Market in South Mumbai. The place is well-known for mobile spares, accessories and CCTV security stuff.

Nice. How's the clarity of the cam? Can you post some samples?
Well the clarity is quite good for any type or size of CRT TV or LCD TVs with decent video output resolution of PAL: 628 X 582 and NTSC: 510 X 492.
The reason I did not buy this online and bought in shop was because I wanted to make sure that there is no laggy video or blurry video on screen.
Online dealers show indicative product images and send something different as I have experienced before.
I made the showroom guy test all cameras in front of me and this was the sharpest and most audible one.
JMK is a somewhat popular brand and Rs600 (after an hour of bargaining) made this a first class deal.
I can quickly see visitors and clearly see and hear people in the corridors chit-chat because of in-built mic
Yes I will post the screengrabs directly from the TV Tuner on my laptop.

Yes but I have been using some products from Manish Market that have lasted for years and still working great.
This camera came with a years limited warranty, not valid in case of excess power input or other misuse.
About my Solar Panels I have 10 Watts 12 Volt, 1 Watt 12 Volt that give out peak voltage of about 21 Volts in peak sunlight... then there are two 6 Volt 470mWatt panels I have made special frames to mount them on the grill at specific angles for optimizing sunlight.
Still buying more panels to run devices on DC power (read Green Energy) and save on Reliance Energy/Tata Power Company bills :D
[My next Solar Panel to be purchased will run a 32 inch LED TV and an MPEG4 High-Definition (HD) Satellite Receiver.]

Nice to meet someone from the same city.Actually I am into solar too.you should mount panels on terrace rather than in grill for optimum performance.

JMK CCTV Camera are good, I've been using 2 of them since last 1+ year without a single minute of turn off. same model you have shown.
The power adapters are connected thru Inverter, however its not going into DVR, just for watching the Gate and another area in house.
I've hided one of them Inside the Round re-chargeable LED List Bulb, removed its battery and instered this cam.
Doesn't appears as camera from close easily.
Needed more cams but I would need a switcher to switch between them as I am out of AVI ports on TV now.

Yes that is what made me buy JMK cameras. The camera metal housing is powder coated metallic and robust. Can be used continuously for longer durations with no disruptions.
