CD and DVD Drive not detected after RAM Upgrade

Yesterday i upgrade my Ram 512 MB to 1GB. After Ram upgrade, my CD Drive and DVD drive not detected. What is the prob, any help:icry:

Check the data cables and the power cables of the cd/dvd drive.They would be loose. Ram does not interfere with the drives detection

@admin, its very difficult to add Rep Point. If i click the Star Button nothing happens. I need to right click and select open in new window... etc etc (I am using opera)

I have another question, Can i use 1 GB RAM and 512 MB RAM in a single mother boad. Some of them telling that, both stick in the mother board had equal memory. Is that true?

i tried the reputation feature on opera here. works fine. takes 1-2 seconds for the popup to appear. the edit feature is not working. i can confirm that.

You can use both 1GB and 512MB RAM on a single motherboard but their frequencies have to match.

I don't think that's necessary. The lower frequency is used for operations.

Its not necessay but why to spend on a RAM with higher frequency when it will run at a lower frequency?If you already have 2 RAMs then this question doesn't arise.

Well, that really happens when you have a really old system. Getting an older spec RAM would be difficult in such a scenario
