For Amitabh, he needs to take care of Abhishek too.
For SRK, he was going thru a lean period. But it was still not justified from him.
 
Abhishek (not Amitabh) and SRK have so many other business, so they don't really have to worry about no movies for income.
SRK owns several properties in Dubai (and perhaps other countries), 2 T20 League teams, movie production house which produces 1-2 movies every year.
 
Abhishek also has a good future/prospects on streaming services. It's not like he has to stay unemployed.

Asked on Kermode and Mayo’s Film Review to clarify if Best Sellers will be his last film, Sir Michael went on: ‘I think it would be, yeah.

‘There haven’t been any offers, obviously, for two years, because nobody’s been making any movies that I’d want to do.

‘Also I’m 88! There’s not exactly scripts pouring out where the leading man is 88! You know?’

Despite Sir Michael’s comments, The Wrap has confirmed with his representatives that he’s ‘not fully retiring’.
