Cheaper TATA Photon Plus

Have prolly posted it multiple times before. Thought I'd make a thread outta it.

Right. So. Photon Plus is pretty expensive for what it offers 255 for 1GB for 15 days.

Enter TATA CDMA prepaid. 256 bucks for 4GB for 30 days at the same photon plus speeds.

Things needed:
1. Unlocked CDMA dongle (around 1000 bucks on ebay for zte/Huawei)

2. TATA CDMA Prepaid ruim (sim)

Activation is tricky. Need to have a CDMA ruim phone around to dial *228 for activation. Usually the dealer should be able to help you out with this.

Getting a prepaid cdma sim is difficult. DoCoMo stores usually claim to have no stock.

Once activated, insert sim in dongle and set to evdo only.

A worthy alternative for those who rely on photon have no bsnl evdo access.

Few months before I was using same but at that time plan was 94 for 4.5 GB...The main problem was balance going negative my 4 to 5 sim cards got above 2 , 3, 5000 Rs negatice balance...I throw the sim in gutter and after 1 months they hike the tarrif

Negative balance thing has stopped. It doesn't connect these days if your balance is 0.

Couldn't get the 4.5GB thing to work here.

Have been using this for many years, so nothing new, also now it does not go to negative balance once it goes to zero the internet would stop working. The speeds are ok nothing great to write about, good for surfing and browsing. Now its only 1 gb for Rs 95 and 256 for 4 gb in most circles.

Tata upgraded network in delhi mumbai n kolkata, so expect better speed for sometime now
