These reports are just sad. LG needs to make money on the phone. They simply cannot at prices Google is offering from the Play Store. Google uses their own web properties to market these products. LG has to pay for marketing and then supporting these phones in the international markets.

so what is better? sell lots of units at a loss or sell few units at profit?LG does not have best selling phones to compensate for loss making products like the Nexus 4. They are struggling in the smartphone market.

They are struggling ..exactly. So sell nexus at loss..gain market reputation so that their future models would sell well and last but not the least ..make smartphones which are awesome. Last few models they've released in india were not exactly spectacular. They launched dual core phone first but then lost the momentum. Also LG brand is not that good while it comes to smartphones.

Well LG even if it sells slightly higher than google in rest of the world , i dont think they would be at loss. Mass production will eventually lead to cheaper manufacturing , and also LG`s reputation will grow , which can be a good thing for future phone releases. More of their product in the market , better exposure and familiarity with the brand.

One confusion........ If I bought an imported nexus 4. Will LG even refuse to repair it for me? I am not talking about warranty here.............. I just need to know that will they accept phone without bill and imported for paid repairs or not?

Shouldn't be a problem, the service centers are run by third parties and if you offer to pay, they will definitely repair it.

If they do launch it in India, which I think they would considering they made a statement about it and all.
