SheiK !
How did you place the order in Googleplay usa site?
I also enrolled with HSG via my paypal sign in . They are quoting around $23-24 for the first 500gm + $ 4 or so the next every 500gm. Their prtland address is indeed tax free state. Googleplay charges delivery charges of $15 or so. With VPN I did went about placing the order in Googleplay (with HSG's Oregon address as address of delivery)but when I have to tick the option credit card address (citi bank with Hyderabad address) not same as delivery address, the space did not have any option other than USA.
(I mean Zip is 5 digits only ) so I stopped it there.so it is still in cart.
HSG is offering Buying on our behalf. but it is a stiff 10% (Did you go for it?) Did you pay Googlepay usa thro a freind with us issued credit card?

Consolidating with other freind is a sound idea as first 500gm is the costliest in International express shipping.
Iam willing to buy one nexus 7 32 Gb+ nexus 4 16gb. but I live in hyd!!
Did HSG gave any idea of customs duty+ service charge? According to Ishop Rs 1750.
I checked with Ishop. They quote close to Rs 24k or so (all in)but 3-5 weeks waiting is a lot.

After you connect to VPN and log onto the Play Store, you'll need to add your credit card once again with the HSG address as the billing address. They won't bother verifying the address, but they will verify the card by charging $1. Once this is done, you can use the card for payment.

HSG didn't calculate the customs, but from what I've read, it's about rs. 500-600 for the phone. There is a Cost Calculator that'll help calculate the approximate shipping and handling charges.

@sheik yerboutiThanks for your reply. I shall try the way you suggested. I have already checked for reviews in the web. Borderlinx is the worst. HSG has a reasonable +ve reputation. As long you ship it out with in the 15 day free storage ,no extra storage to pay. If everything goes well ,may be we will save Rs 1000-1500 per phone compared to what IshopIntl is asking.Indian credit cards may over charge up to Rs 1 extra on the $/Re exchange rate.have you used one time use web credit cards issued by HDFC,sbi etc for USA Google play store?@sheik yerboutiThanks for your reply. HSG and PPOBOX are the most widely used ones. I've heard very good feedback about PPOBOX, but nothing bad about HSG. So you should be good.

I've not used those virtual credit cards. Don't need to. But on XDA, people report it to be unreliable. Either use a credit card(preferred) or a debit card. Google is a reliable company, so no need to use VCC's.

saurav
how much duty you paid to the courier for your nexus 4 ? Your freind also paid the similar amount?
You got it in UK thro a freind and couriered as a private parcel right? (not thro a freight forwarder)
Iam trying to order from USA and ship it by Dropbox address with either using borderlinx/Hopshopgo like that.
They are quoting Indian customs duty like rs 1750. Just curious.

I got it sent from a relative. It was sent as a gift. I had to pay Rs. 2000/- (includes everything) to the DHL guy.

Sorry for the late reply, had a rather busy week.

Sent through a courier service? Then at maximum 2 days.

Through DHL, yes. Over on xda, there are many Bangaloreanswho ordered it the same way I did, and customs held it up for 3 days.

Anyway, at least the customs charges are fair. Some people in Delhi and Mumbai have had to pay about 1500-2000.

So The Bangalore consignments clear customs at bangalore International airport instead of gateway airports like Mumbai/Delhi.Similarly Hyderabad address should undergo customs at Hyderabad?? But BIAL has lot of direct/indirect traffic to US east coast compared to Hyd. DHL even flies their own cargo plane.Update me about the duty+service charge collected by DHL. You paid Comgateway thro credit card or paypal?? You bought at the right time.Next day the stock situation became "ready-2-5 days " to "2-3 weeks"
