Errm. There's a difference! Flipkart provides replacement warranty only for 30 days while Google Play provides the same for the whole warranty period i.e. 1 year.
Is this for real?

Yup. That's how the Play Store functions wherever it's selling devices.
RMA'ing a device doesn't mean that you get a new replacement AFAIK. If it is repairable it is repaired and sent back

If it is repairable it is repaired and sent back Check out the RMA thread on Xda. Most of them have reported the replacement as cosmetically new, and newer revisions too. And they do send a replacement first, but they hold an authorization amount on your credit card which is released when your faulty device reaches them.

^^ Who knows what lies beneath the shiny cover. Ofcourse not all would be getting brand new pieces. Thats a lossy business model !!
Apple for that matter does send refurbished replacements for its RMA'd handsets.
Ofcourse what will happen in the Indian market is what is to be seen.

yeah exactly , in case the device is physically not good eg scratches on it some dents etc... they replace the pcb which is the core of the deivce and its back to you. Here i mention pcb because replacing the pcb of the device makes the device like a new one.
May be google refurbishes the device
