Can anyone confirm that I do not have to switch off and switch on the modem to reset the ip after 2 am and before 8 am to avoid bsnl overcharging me?

I really would like this plan and I would be using torrent and download schedulers to download between 2.15 am and 7.45 am. But, I cannot be awake at those times to manually reset the ip.

Thanks in advance.

there are two ways u can sort it outone thing ,best thing is to connect ur modem in brigde mode,so that u can use batch files for scheduling dail -up ,its pretty easyif u connect ur modem to PPPoE,u can some use batch commands to switch off and on ur modem (i'm not expert in it)

That sounds great, but I have heard BSNL does not support bridge (though I have no idea what that is)? Plus, where can I find more information on how this could be done? So, you are saying BSNL will charge me if I continue with the same IP from say 12 am and split the costs over that many hours? (averaging?)Thanks.

mine brigde mode , if u connect to net using a dail up on desktop, in simple terms its brigde modeya,it will charged on avg ,if u leave it connected from 12am

Oh. Where can I find instructions to do that? Google doesn't seem to be very helpful. Or maybe I don't know what exactly to search for.
