I was about to get Dish HD. So how many HD channels are there exactly?

well i saw the video..the expose is good as now the masses will know the trueness of the fake HD.:thumb:
But the tech jargon given in the video was pathetic.
They focused all on one thing aspect ratio and not the frame size.........what the f***.:icry:
The diff. was shown by changing the aspect ratio in the HDTV:grin:.....an idiot can also feel the diff. between upscaled and normal HD by seeing the sharpness and pixellation not the aspect ratio.
And yes the anchors are utter idiots, perhaps they should see cnet or infosync videos so as to know as to how to review a product.

Mate, atleast the public have got a sniff of the fact. For those curious, (& who want to buy it) will google up & land up on Wiki or over here, or other Fora, and we will give them the right guidance!!

The no. of True HD channels are almost the same that are offered by other DTH players......
Here's the list: (Others will correct it, if its wrong!!)
1) Star Cricket HD (Event based)
2) ESPN HD (Event based)
3) Discovery HD
4) NGC HD
5) I think they have this Movies Now HD as well.......
To sum up, Star Plus, Zee TV, Zee Cinema, Star Gold, HBO, and such other channels that they "Claim" to be HD, are just upscaled and not true ones.

As regards Star Plus......i hope u have read another thread here - Star Plus, Star Movies, Star Gold, & i think Star World, are being tested in TRUE HD......yes, not upscaled.It is just being tested, no DTH has taken it up.And another channel - Set Max HD too is being tested - it started testing recently.
It is a reality - Star is testing its 4 channels.....am lazy to find the link for u now. May be if u dont find, i will post 1 by morning......And similarly for Set Max - True HD is being tested, especially to be in time for IPL.
