Hi there. I have tried for two months to solve my problem but I have not been able to and would appreciate any help. In return will create a guide listing out the solution step by step and post it to be of future help.I use azureus with MTNL. I do not get download speeds of more than 20kbps ever. I have tried downloading one file at a time with multiple seeds and I mean a LOT of seeds and have had no luck.i have tried port forwarding but given I am a noob, I may have made a mistake, does anyone know the exact settings for the D-Link DSL 502T please?I use mac os x for your informationMy plans have been 256/unlimited downloading any time and i just switched to 512/nights unlimited but that has made no difference what so ever. The only other symptom which may or may not be related is that when i had unlimited downloading, and if i ran azureus, after a while the speeds would slow down and dissolve to 0. I would then have to reset the internet (unplug the router/wifi and plug it up again) and then it would work.if anyone has the time and patience to help with this, i would really appreciate and will make sure there is a guide for future usersthank you

well, as u've changed ur plan, 1st check whether it has been really changed... -> check ur modem stats and do a speed check on speedtest.net or on mtnl2nd - u need to open-up ports if u're connectin net by NOT dialing for it (this is called pppoea mode)... alternately - if dialing (i.e. bridge mode) - then its fine - no change needed3rd - lower the upload speed - say to 10KB/s and keep download speed to max (of azureus or any downloader/sharer) as full upload speed create a bottleneck for download...do above things - u're prob will jus vanish..P.S. - I use Win XP and Ubuntu (Linux) - No knowledge about MAC

PLan has changed -- called MTNL to check and used speedtest.comHow do i open the port for this particular modem? I checked portforwarding.com and made the changes. is there a way to test and see if i did it correctly? is there a site where i can specifically check and made sure the steps are correct? My upspeed is 7kbps and download speed it 0kbps (unlimited)Checked again, no difference, still hits 20.8kbps and then stays there

also azureus has built in port checker. in Tools or something check with it it will give u accurate findings.

2. Post Device status of this compex modem and the MT882. ( does not appear same as mine )
3. Do test speed at speedtest.net a foreign server. and report D/L and U/L speeds.

Hi there, I keep getting59.178.167.xxx isn't responding on port 49153 and this is after trying for four hours and im going nuts trying to figure this out49153 is the Azureus Incoming TCP listen port and the UDP listen port.I have the D-Link DSL 502T and i cant figure out what to do so any help would REALLY be appreciated please!

Hi,Even I have the same router and I can help you open your ports. Please follow the following instructions:1)Open your router page (192.168.1.1)2)Go to Advanced in the topmost tab.3)Choose Virtual Server in the left tab.4)Select user in the available rules category.5)Click add, which is to the left of edit.6)Select a rule name (put anything).7)Select TCP,UDP in protocol.8)In the next three fields, enter the port no. you are using.(port start, port end, port map)9)Click apply.10)Select Virtual Server again and select user.11)Highlight the rule you have just created and click add on the right side.12)Now your rule will appear in the applied rules window as well.13)Apply the settings and save them. That's it.I hope it helps you in opening the required ports.

Hi thereI still keep getting 59.178.167.xxx isn't responding on port 49153 and i dont get over 22 kbps even with torrents of 38 seeds...Im again at a loss. I did EXACTLY what you said...created a rule called Azr1 with all three ports 49153 and protocol TCP/UDPThe only error i can think of is may be I am using the wrong ports?I go to azureus and under options, I see connectionMy "incoming tcp listening port" and "udp listening port" are both 49153i then create a rule in the modem with those ports. even then i dont get anything faster and i get that error msg i.e. "59.178.167.xxx isn't responding on port 49153 "as you can see, im getting a little frustrated...are there any screen shots/additional info i can give you?but yeah, thanks A TON for that detailed list...i wish it had workedbut seriously, thanks

Hi,I think you are making some kind of a mistake while opening the port.I understand that you were successful in creating a rule, but did you apply the rule (the rule should appear in the available rules window and the applied rules window as well ).If you are sure that you did all this correctly, then maybe your windows firewall is blocking Azureus.
