What the customer care people are saying ? did you ask the customer care people? tell them and see their response? which part of Bangalore you belong to ? If it is near to me, you can take my bsnl router and check @ your place. Or you can bring your router and check with my username/password @ my place. :)

@appus : The cust care washed off their hands saying they cant support modem's which aren't issued by BSNL :mad:I leave in Kavalbyrasandra (Near RT Nagar). Thats really nice of you to offer this help for me. Let me know where you are put up. We could try either of the options that you have suggested.Regards,Guru@ essbebe : I have the same setup as mentioned in the link above. Infact I have mentioned my settings in the start of the thread.Regards,Guru

Hey all,I just bought a Netgear DG834G, did the initial setup configuration. Checked the router and broadband statistics, everything was fine. i got a valid ip from isp. But i have difficulty in browsing. I had to hit refresh 2 or 3 times to see a page. Any idea , why packets are dropping for me. i even disabled firewall and set "allow all" in firewall rule. Still i cant browse just like i did with my orignial bsnl modem - utstar, which was really good didnt have any problems at all.I really dont know why this is happening? could someone help?Charlee

Welcome to broadband forum.in
1.Details given by you are not enough.
2.Try whether MTU has been set to 1492.
3.Do you use Dialup mode Or "Always On '
4.Did you enter your user id without @ bsnl.in for "AlwaysOn "
5. Post ipconfig/all
6. Are you surfing in WIFI mode or with modem lan port connected to Desktop/Laptop computer ethernet port ?
7. If you have the old modem compare the settings.
8. Use opendns 208.67.220.220 and 208.67.222.222
