I had got an MTNL triband connection booked and the guys came to install it on Wednesday but as soon as i started my machine poof my PSU went kaput

so i got it repaired yesterday and thought ill call up MTNL guys but then i thought why not install it myself since they had given the stuff

i have put up the splitter and the modem and connected it via the CAT5 cable
i changed my gateway and am able to access the router

but i am unable to configure it , i downloaded the guide from mtnl's site but it seems to have instructions for a very old firmware version and i am not able to find the corresponding settings

this is the screen i am getting

i am using windows vista business / 32 bit

also i read that the password has to be the AC number but i havent got any account number so should i call them and get it ?

:(

SmartAX MT-882 ADSL MODEM MENU

Page does not appear to be that of MT882.
Can you post the device status page ?
Select WAN page to enter ID password. sorry. should not have told this .

In Vista : TCP/IP you may have to disable IPV6 sometimes.

Ipv6 isnt installed

in WAN options do i select PPPoE or Bridge mode ?

in pppoe what will be my password

Hope u know the difference between pppoe and bridge mode. If you dont... browse thru the stickies... u will find the difference. In any case... your ID would be you phone number (or phoneNumber@a) as informed by your exchange and the password would be your CA number that appears on the top-left of your telephone bill.

Probably some description/label in the modem ? Made in China etc ?Call Customer Care . Against your Telephone number A/c No may be available in their computers along with other details. printed bill may take at least a week.to reach you by post. Or Check Online Telephone Bill details. ( BSNL has the facility )

no brand/company is mentioned on the router/box , the router has MTNL and MT882 written on it and the user guide refers to it as ADSL 2+ modem , but windows vista , on plugging the USB connection detects it as Texas Instruments ADSL modem

mtnl people are such foolstold me they will come and enter the CA number only :wall:but i found an unsecure wifi network in my house of MTNL , probably my neighbours' , currently using that :P
