Hi All,I am a real-novice when it comes to networking. My basic requirement is to share my current Airtel internet connection between 2 or more machines (PC,laptops). I know that the bandwidth will get split (not a porblem at all for me). The equipment that I have is,01. Airtel Beetel DSL 100U model - has a USB connection and a telephone line02. A D-Link ethernet card on the desktop and in-built Realtek ethernet card on the Acer travelmate 2410 laptop03. Next month I will be buying a D-Link wireless router, having a WAN port and 4 LAN ports.I want to keep the desktop as a kind of server.I have a certain configuration in mind, but am not sure whether it is the right way to do it and whether it will work. It is as follows,01. Connect the USB to the desktop and the telephone line as it is.02. Connect a cable from the ehternet card on the desktop to the WAN port on the wireless router.03. Configure the laptop(s) for wifi.P.S. The reason I have specified the modem model number is because it is a USB based modemPlease advice. Thanks, inteladu
