Configuring MT882 via USB

I have an old laptop at home which doesnt have an ethernet port but has a USB one , so i wanted to run my connection with it , but i hadnt had any success till now

I tried installing the drivers through the cd by right clicking on install.inf but it said the service installation section of the inf isnt valid and therefore cant install

i downloaded drivers for MT882 from here :
Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd.. Delhi

they didnt work , it says please plug in your modem , but it doesnt work ?

any suggestions ?

try from device manager...update driver feature.

connect USB cable to modem & computer
- switch off modem power
- start your XP machine.
- after complete booting of XP insert modem cd.
- swith on modem power supply
- XP will prompt in one window "Found new hardware"
- click next->next
- AT THIS TIME, After the above window,IT WILL AGAIN PROMPT "Found New Hardware"
- Do not close this window, Click Next->Next immediately in this window also
- It will complete the USB Driver installation & will ask u to reboot system.

(All has problem only due to that they are closing the 2nd window of "New Hardware Found". All thinks that it is prompting twice & they are closing the 2nd window of "New hardware Found". But this is not the things. The 2nd window is also for some device driver installation prompt )

Ive tried it but it doesnt work , i dont get two windows , just a single one

^^ ill try that and let you knowit worked dude , not exactly those , but i downloaded those drivers and clicked on the setup it started searching endlessly for the device , then i plugged out and plugged in my modem and inserted the CD and it got automatically installed yipeereps added

/members/manu1991/ Glad to know it worked. Please take the trouble of adding comment in the drivers.com web site.. I think you are most competent to post/upload the driver files in IndiaBroadband Wiki also.

Ill upload the entire CD image of the driver cd which has the UserManual also anyone who wants to install and doesnt have the disc can download the image >> burn it and install it
