Hi guys, I've the dataone connection. I keep getting dc though frequently for some reason and for the past 2 days my modem hasnt been able to pick up a strong signal. the lights increase then decrease on the modem. Please guide me what i should do? Is there any customer service number that i can call about the problem?? Thanks for your help...appreciate it..

@arjun1345Welcome to Broadbandforum.inFirstly confirm you connected to the internet, anytime.Secondly give your modem details.Thirdly show how you have connected the setup.telephone splitter modem phone computer etc.

Are you able to use your telephone without noise? If there is no noise, then call broadband customer care 1800 424 1600. If you have lots of noise, then call 1500 or call your local exchange people and tell the problem of frequent disconnection regardsappus

Hi All, Thanks for all ur replies, I'm new to this forum so did not know abt giving in the details, anyways here they are: 1. I use a UT300RU Modem, he setup is like this the telephone line is going to a splitter, from there it goes to my modem and the modem i connect to my Laptop, this is a broadband connection and I have it for an year now. 2. Major problem is t keeps isconnecting me lot of times [like the modem all the 3 lights except for the Red one go off and then it doesnt connet back easily, it takes a hell lot of time or somedays it doesnt connect even for a minute, I have tried all switching off and on, i have checked my telephone line, no loose wires nothing, its just some connection problem that occurs. 3. Another problem is, when i'm connected to the internet and if a call come son my landline, i get DC, and the PPOE [Orange] light start goin on and off and i have to restart my modem to get back the connectivity, till i had a cordless phone there wasnt any problem of this sort, but as soon as i switched to a normal wire phone this problem started coming. 4. I got eh cust.care no from the exchange people it has been changed to 1800-424-1600 nd it hardly works, i have been trying for 3 days and it worked only today! So i have lodged a complaint with them they said they'll send some people to my house fo rchecking and i really hope they come. But still i'm here to seek some help from all you guys, so that i understand the problem better. Please let me know what you all think about these problems, I know all of it is too long to read, but this is how I can best explain it to you all here. Thanks a lot for all your help, really appreciate it. Waiting for somehelp. Arjun.

you can call up the local exchange people or call 1500 and tell about this problem. that is related to your phone line. I think there is some problem with your splitter . Original Line should come to Splitter. From splitter, it should go to modem n telephone. Make sure you connected at the right ports . Dont change. is there any noise in telephone ? I do get disconnected sometimes because my line is noisy. i have complained this and they called up and asked me later about the issue also.

all the best

Hi again, Yeah When i pickup the phone while i'm connected i do hear noises, but i thot that was normal, thanks for telling me about it, i'll ask them about this as well IF they come to check on the problem. And as far as the cables go, i think they are connected right only bcos all this while ive been using internet on that setup only, so i guess problem is somewhere else. Thanks, Arjun
