if you have multiple pcs, then you cannot use bridge mode, unless you have a pc which dials and acts as a gateway and all other pcs are behind this gateway pc.. but typically if you have multiple pcs.. you need to make your modem/router to dial in ppoe mode

thanks for the reply... is any other way to schedule connection.. i want my connection to automatically disconnect and reconnect..

if your computer is dialing then you can schedule by using the rsdial command, there is already a thread on that.. if your modem is dialing then you need to use a telnet script.. i dont know which one you need!!

i donno which is dialing... when i keep my modem on and shut down my system there is no activity.. will the telnet script will work for wa3002G4 wireless modem... i am using vista in my laptop and xp in my desktop..

i'm a nerd in all such cases...but wish to know what this bridge connection is all about...

as the name suggests in bridge mode modem just acts like a bridge & forward all the traffic directly to your computer.what it means is that you establish connection using windows dialer & there is no need to port forward as all the traffic will come directly to your computer & you just have to made changes in firewall settings.

Thannks for providing the introduction....but what is the use of such a connection...and even the chances of one computer to be a victim of hackers increases to a considerable pace..so is this connection safe???
