Good piece. Shows how stupid CBSE etc. handle result fetching on public portals.
Hopefully he does not get into trouble for this. No hacking was done. Just some script kidding basically. :)

It's amazing that the raw data is hardly 30MB. It should be smaller in a proper database format. Result fetching should be insanely smooth and fast. Result servers should not crash. Though I am not sure if they still crash. I have not checked anyones result in a long time now.

We have not seen any reports of the central UID database hacked right? Should happen. Should really really happen.

This analysis is amazing.
@chromaniac, you know what I still hold deployment access to many of UID modules, because I was the one who helped to deploy them. Though I don't work with them neither I had worked with them directly in past (but there are other ways around ;)). So 'Hacking' and publishing is not that difficult in India, where a guy chewing Pan and Tobacco sits outside the Main Server room in some remote building as watchman with no other security but holding World's Largest personal data sets (technically).

Loved the post. Just one point. That number tampering is actually considered a part of the marking process. Now I am not proficient with ICSE Board but CBSE does have guidelines set for upgrading the marks and promoting the students. Even schools openly encourage this. No way a student can get real result if you are studying here. Everyone gets grace marks. You can now only fail in your board exams if you leave empty sheets. :P
