Just came across a random post on reddit about trash Google search results and the solution was adding 'reddit' to search term.

Many people including me use this method especially if it's something technical or review or like opinion about a particular thing.

I still find a a lot of good answers from different type of forums. Reddit is a popular searchable now. Lack of direct financial incentive on forums ensures you can find answers from real users most of the time. There are some good groups on fb but all completely unsearchable content.

Most blogs which gets ranked after manipulation are trash auto generated content filled with affiliate links. I don't mind the ads or links but provide good content atleast. Small site owners who provide true information cannot compete with these giant auto generated content farms.

Only exception is financial information like tax and stuff from big sites is properly researched.

Finding good content in forums only works if the forum is properly maintained by removing seo and ad spammers on time otherwise you'll end up with a bad solution or shitty product

Google should honestly give new sites more chances and see user behaviour, if it completes the search. It does with YouTube .

With YouTube you can atleast see if user actually has access to the product, even otherwise it's easy to spot trash content.

For any site to rank u need an old site, ton of backlinks and what not. A classic example of dumb rules is the cooking recipes sites, literally every site if forced to write gibberish about how they grandmother taught them this recipe. The actual recipe is only 5-10percent of content on the page. Sites just posting cooking recipes will not get ranked became low words count.

Google probably ranks the shite sites higher because they use their own ads service in the first place?

Sometime after 2012 Google decided to penalised forums/user generated content.
Blogs copying from forums were ranking higher. Forums never really recovered. Many popular forums turned into ghost towns.

Most blog/sites ranking are run by some organisation, only companies can afford to spend money to get the content ranked.

Ofcourse all articles are outsourced who then use ai tools to generate it.

Google rules are messed up.
