i have never before bothered to check the condition of the notes coming out from the atm machine. but i have do that now. the quality of these notes is so bad... and you end up getting old notes now from atm machines. it's crazy. that's the best i can do. pretty hard to detect fake notes during a quick counting though. so you just hope for the best.
plus shopkeepers don't accept notes with pen markings on them so have to keep an eye for that. and get the notes replaced at the bank if you end up getting a marked note from the atm. it's crazy how low the trust is in indian notes (and coins) in the country itself.
