I removed all the antenna wires, and now the signal strength is quite low. Still, I'm able to connect to the router wifi from around 10fts away in direct line of sight.
In the router admin dashboard, top search box, you can search for "Basic configuration 2.4 GHz" and "Basic configuration 5GHz" and reduce the Maximum Transmit Power to 1 dbm (default is 31 dbm). This will reduce the signal radius. I couldn't find the switch to completely disable the wifi ssids. So this is the best you can do.
PS:- Rebooting the router resets the transmit power back to 31 dbm. So you need to redo it if you reboot.
