Tata Sky is fooling people by charging 10K for a DVR with very limited capabilities. As for channel count, Dish TV is head and shoulders above the rest, so doesn't matter whether it's from DD Direct or from DirecTV US, as long as Dish TV carries the channels, they are counted. Tata Sky falls flat when it comes to the list of channels.
 
I know my facts very well dear ! Dish TV might have introduced that in 2004, but they had plans of launching DVR cum HD STBs in Sept-Oct 2008 which never happened. And look at other DTH...They have already launched the same. Whereas Dish TV is "still" in plans of it. Do check this facts too !

Let's wait hope they will soon come up with their DVR boxes and hd channels as well.

TataSky falls flat when it comes to the list of chs, even Dish TV falls flat when it comes to the no of chs. You just need to substract the no of chs of DD Direct Plus from Dish TV. After that, Dish TV wont even have the no of chs which TataSky has. And it doesnot matter if TS is fooling people or doing a charity by launching DVR. As long as they are providing the facilty its good to go with.

Oh..By the way...Dish TV also falls flat when it comes to picture and sound quality on some channels.
 
Aren't channels from DD Direct called 'channels'? Are they called by some other name?
 
Yes, obviously they are called 'channels'. Everybody knows that. But NO CREDIT goes to Dish TV for that. DD Direct Plus gets the credit for those extra chs. People keep saying that Dish TV has 240 chs & services, but they should also mention that atleast 70 chs are hosted on DDD+ satellite.
