MUMBAI: The DTH (direct-to-home) action has moved to the southern market even as Sun Direct has mopped up one million subscribers in a short span of 200 days with low subscription pricing.
With Sun pricing its packages from as low as Rs 10 to Rs 140, market leader Dish TV has been forced to drop rates. The Zee Group DTH operator, boasting of 3.5 million subscribers across the country, has reduced the entry cost by over 40 per cent and introduced a special hat-trick offer for its subscribers in the four southern states.
As per the new rates, a new Dish TV connection in South India would now be available for Rs 1990 (plus Rs 200 as installation charges) from the earlier Rs 2,950 (plus Rs 200). In addition to this, there is monthly recurring cost starting at Rs 60 per month going up to Rs 300 per month.
Dish TV is also offering three benefits to subscribers under the hat-trick offer. The subscribers will be offered five leading sports channels, 33 free movies and unlimited gaming free for one year. Sun Group's DTH offering includes 14 add-on packages (ranging from as low as Rs 10 to Rs 140) to "suit every pocket" in a "Pay for what you watch" concept. The one million subscribers, the company says, have come from only the four southern states - Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh - and the union territory of Pondicherry.
Sun Direct launched four regional basic tiers consisting of over 100 plus channels specific to each southern state (Tamil basic, Telugu Basic, Kannada Basic and Kerala basic) at the rate of Rs 75 per month.
Sun Direct now plans to have a national roll out strategy.

I thought it would be good if we had post the message over here or in dish tv section by which many will come to know on this matter...........Take this is the same news telecasted in different newschannels and printed in different news papers........ The visibility of the matter is more important. I have posted it over here because dish tv came with new packages due to Sun Direct and Sun Direct viewers should be proud of this as SD challenging other DTH operators............

Some one needs to challenge some one and thats what it is happening now as SD is challenging both Dish TV and TS and thats the reason TS is giving some offer for south indians and Dish TV is coming up new packages for south indians. Ultimately the DTH customers are benefiting now matter who is using which service and i firmly believe that after 2 years in DTH market there will be many offers for existing customers too..........The more the players come the more the benefit for the DTH customers..........

yes its true....the price may even come down from 300 to rs 250 once remaining dth operator launched

I hope that Big TV and Bharthi Dth also launch soon by which we could also benefit.......I feel the new entrant customers will benefit a lot in the future and currently also they are getting lots of benefit than the existing DTH customers........atleast this is applicable in TS and Dish TV.

Why should we proud of any service provider ?
I doubt whether any SD viewer dreams big for Marans, as some TS viewers dream big for Tata. :hysterical::hysterical:

No customer is dreaming about any corporates benefit rather The customers always think for their benefit :Pand also the corporate always think for their benefit no matter if its SD or TS or Dish TV and the same is applicable for the all the DTH Customers.......
