Do I need a new router?

Man, this is my friend's AC1200. I've not opened C6 yet. It's kept seal packed.

Thinking if I should return C6 or keep it. Is there any other benefit I'm getting on C6 besides OpenWRT?

Try a different ethernet cable between router and ont

Clicked on the router logo and it still doesn't show ethernet details.

Keep in mind ac1200 is fast ethernet port only. So max you can get is 95mbps.

WAN is syncing at 100Mbps thats the problem. You will have to try a different cable. What is your ONT Model? Can you send a picture of the cable you are currently using between ONT and Router? It should have 8 wires.

on a 100mbps plan you will never get full 100 even if you use gigabit router. 95mbps is the best in this scenario. If you want 60mbps+ on wifi get a 5ghz router. Linksys E5600 has expectational range on 5ghz using it for last week.

@Zexen this isn't completely true. Depending on the ISP, they may over provision slightly. In this case, if the line coming into home is EPON/GPON or gigabit ethernet, ONT is Gigabit and router is also Gigabit. Closer to 100Mbps, maybe even slightly above 100Mbps is achievable.
