Does a Jio postpaid family plan cost less as compared to paying individually?

so my family (excluding me) use Jio prepaid sims (i do too but i only recharge when im out of town)

1. Dad pays 249rs
2. Mom pays 249rs
3. Sister pays 349rs

Total = 847rs a month

if i get them a 449rs postpaid plan ,that should technically cost a lot less than paying individually as out of the 3 only my sister uses high data while both the parents are okay with less data + these plans come with unlimited 5G too

so is it actually cheaper to get it or its a trap?

Add-on family SIM will be charged at Rs 150/Month

So you will have total as for 3 members as 449+150+150

Everyone gets unlimited 5G, 5 GB per child is added to the total pool of 75 GB and is shared among all the users.
The above data is only used for 4G.

These plans are not shit, if the company is paying for you, or you travel a lot (specifically to places with limited 5G) or you have problems with daily data.
I personally prefer Jio Postpaid, as the international roaming (pay as you go model) is a lot cheaper compared to others.

mom and dad so that's 10gb added to 75gb = 85gb pool ? And unlimited 5G ?

Parents barely go out maybe once in 6 months so it's always in Mumbai
I'm considering this plan if the total cost is lesser than what I'm paying in prepaid as they are currently using 249rs non 5G plan (while having 5G phones)

Yes, 85 GB of pool that will be shared among the 3 people. This pool is consumed for 4G data usage only.
5G is unlimited and included for each and is not counted in the total usage.

If we consider 3 months of usage, on Postpaid its 2649 while on Prepaid its 2761.

i did some calulations
prepaid is costing about 11,011rs a year for all 3 members

1. 349x13 (5G)
2. 249x13 (4G only)
3. 249x13 (4G only)

Total 11,011rs

so if we assume the total montly cost in postpaid is approx 884rs after gst
884x13= 11,492

and while giving 5G benefits

Or if i buy yearly plan of 3599rs X 3 that becomes 10,797rs
while giving 2.5Gb of daily 4G data
