Does tatasky have any space left in its transponder

i just looking at these two website lyngsat(showed 2 test card) and satcodx(showed none)... so i have a query that can Tata Sky add new channels does it have some space left

Tata Sky has an capacity of adding around 170 to 180 channels.

This is not an useless thread, this helps us to incraese our knowledge about the satellilite and transponder etc.
Dont just sit infront of the TV and watch the channles, think how it works, how the singnal is transmitted, why in rainy season signal strength is reduce, what is the differnet between C band and Ku band etc., and increase ur knowlege.

They can add many more channels but they will need to increase the compression. Already the quality is hardly is from 1.1mpbs to 4mbps for channels. It cannot be claimed as DVD quality anyway It depends on the time of the day. So I am unable to tell the exact bandwidth for each channel.

If Tata Sky change the compression format to MPEG then more channels can be accomodated.

It is already in Mpeg2 format. They can go to Mpeg4 to add more channels but need to change their stbs.

Just changing format or adding channels going to help. They also need to reduce the price.
