Usually Tech wing does not worry about this.
Say modem/router is internmittent or faulty
. Exchange possible within an year of purchase.
Get some other model. Accept a nonwifi model if offered , after checking up dyndns is available !
there are enough complaints about this modem SEM or ITI DNA A211-I

well you would have surely come across dd-wrt /open-wrt. Can you help me figure out the closest to ITI DNA-A211 so i'll try flashing it...

I didnt try dyndns on modem ever because I use bridge mode.
this modem does check for existence of /etc/ppp/ip-up.local file.
by default its not there. so somehow if u can put it there (which is tough as its squashfs file system and 100% full) then u can call a dyndns update script (u will have to put that too)
dyndns script is not in the modem. they have put minimal busybox.

ha ha ha ..i don knw weather to cry or laugh ... 'm mad.. i previously flashed it with "3.08.02.IB.02.01_cfe_fs_kernel".. and my restartin issure was resolved.. but guess wat...i downloaded "dd-wrt".. "tomato" ..i tried so many different possible ways to flash my router with those.. and u know wat.. the file gets uploaded and and the router takes a reboot and the router is still running on it "DNA" firmware.. the damn! thing isn't accepting any firmware and is hardcore stealhty to updates ...u have a idea..?? and

Well dear ppl i'll tell u wat my actual objective is..hope u have some alternatives...
Well, I can ask some 1 at home to turn ON the UPS or probably leave it On always.. but i want to send a WOL command and boot up my PC and want to be able to ssh into my PC wn i 'm on travel.. usually i'm using the no-ip update client and have to keep my PC ON ..have to trouble som1 @ home to boot it up for me.. i jz wanted to avoid all that..
I planned to add a rule in the modem to broadcast the WOL packet on the LAN which would boot up my comp .. problem is my ISP provides me only dynamic IP ..its actually an advantage..but my ISP's modem isn't providing DDns service..i hope 'll be able to do somethin abu this.. If i can achieve this i can boot my PC up without interupting any1 and any time in the day
