Ebook reader

So, I've only recently found out about how e-ink works differently than a backlit phone screen I've been using all along. Would like some recommendations on readers with e-ink display.

Budget - 5-6k

Needs to have just the bare minimum functionality, preferably one that could fit inside a pocket. I don't intend to use wifi or download/buy books off online stores, only offline usage.

Kobo should be fine in that case.

I have used kobo glo in the past and the experience was abysmal at best. The os is riddled with bugs and gets even nastier with the monthly updates so if any of you guys are planning to buy this device then my advice is to never update the device at all.

Should I jump on that deal? I realize it's refurbished but as long as it works fine for the first few months, I should expect it'll be fine in the longer run or could I be wrong about this?

It's the 2002 model. Not sure if the current model was updated along with the paperwhite editions. I would personally stay away from a 4 year old unit.

I have that exact Kindle. Works great but if you're willing to spend a little extra, I'd recommend newer versions. Brighter screen, faster page turns and backlight in case you want to read in dark.
