Tata Sky Ltd, the joint venture between the Tata Group and Star, is set to gain share in the Uttar Pradesh market with its educational interactive services. The company, which at present has over 2 million connections in the country, plans to increase it to eight million by 2012.
"Our interactive services led by the educational services on our platform have been our strength. Education is our prime focus and it remains our constant endeavour to provide children with quality education in an entertaining manner," Vikram Mehra, chief marketing officer, Tata Sky told Business Standard.
Tata Sky recently reduced their monthly subscription prices and has also launched new add-on packages that not only enhance choice for their subscribers but also provide them with the flexibility to include or drop premium sports channels for any chosen period, rather than paying for them all year round.
The benefits of these services have been endorsed by over 600 schools across India that use Tata Sky as an additional teaching aid in classrooms.
