typo, I meant if IT companies didn't take them then there would be shortage of jobs for them as not many core companies for them are present.
Fine.. But should they be getting that job ahead of "specialist" graduates/degree holders? In an ideal system - No.
In my opinion, there could be a top up course , after which you can become eligible for that "different" industry.
===========================
I will elaborate my point.
If one can switch industries in last minute & there is no preference of doing any specialization for job. Then why have different subjects in XII & parts of college. Have same subjects for all up to say "15th" Std. And have last 1-2 years for specialization.
If no, then people from specialization should be chosen & people interested to switch their areas need to do top up courses.
---------------------------
I understand some subjects require more time for specialization & IT is considered one of the few where its not much needed. But the fact is, that our education system does not have many ideal IT courses, where fundamentals are strongly taught so that someone who has done an IT course should be able to enter a company and start doing well pretty soon from joining date. But, because its so bad, that many IT & Non-IT folks needs to be trained all over albeit as a crash course anyway in the companies that has led to this situation.
