Googling tells me that this is an old problem which seems to have carried over to Windows 8. Windows Update does not work. Reinstall is suggested as the only way out. Anyone here?
I successfully ran Windows Update yesterday night on Win 8.Since you are eligible for 90 days of no-charge (from the date of activation) support from Microsoft on Windows 8, why don't you try that and see if that support of is any good.
On windows 7, when I get that error (dont know if its exact same code), even I cant run windows update. But I dont do anything, I just try again after 1-2 days. And it works.I think its a random thing. Try waiting for couple of days.
not my machine thankfully. it's vishal. i would tell him to wait. he also does not want to refresh his windows. too much effort is required to get back to where you were. :\
