I dont think so, SUN DTH is the chepest DTH in india, May be CC was wrong. :huh:

Really i cant understand why does SD wants to charge Rs. 40 for each ESS channels.........i could not believe this..........even in ESPN site they have mentioned the rates of ESS channels even if it is put together the rates wont even exceed Rs. 70 i believe..............
Well I dont know why TRAI is not making it compulsory for the Broadcasters to make channels available at a particular rate. Say ESPN STAR rate is Rs.70.. then they should be made available for 30 or 40 rs. by TRAI.. they aren't doing it...:wall:

They should fix the MRP for that channel when it provided to the DTH customers ........... If SD charges Rs. 120 for all the 3 ESS channels........then i believe SD will be the cosliest DTH service provider in India.........I hope they dont charge more than Rs. 70 for the ESS channels for its customers.......

NEW DELHI: Sectoral regulator TRAI has recommended to the government to consider revoking registration of sports broadcaster ESPN Software India a
nd to issue directions to DTH operators to stop carrying its channels for violating regulations, Parliament was informed today.
In a written reply to a question, Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Anand Sharma said all broadcasters except ESPN Software India were offering their channels at 50 per cent rates at which these were offered for non-Conditional Access System cable distribution.
Sharma said as the broadcaster did not comply with a direction by TRAI on June 24 to charge DTH operators at half the non-CAS cable rates as per the Telecommunication (Broadcasting and Cable Services) 2004, TRAI has recommended to the government action against ESPN.
The action recommended by TRAI includes invoking of registration of all the three ESPN channels - Star Sports, Star Cricket and ESPN Star.
TRAI has also recommended to issue direction to all DTH operators to stop carrying ESPN's channels.
Sharma further said, "TRAI has also filed a complaint in the court of Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Delhi, on August 6, 2008 under section 34 of the TRAI Act 1997. The court has also taken cognizance of the complaint filed by TRAI."
TRAI had issued a direction to ESPN on June 24 this year asking it to follow the sectoral guidelines and to offer their channels to DTH operators at a rate 50 per cent lower than the cable rates, the minister informed.

Its really sad to hear that ESPN, Star sports and star cricket are prised at Rs.40 each(Rs.120).When other DTH operators are providing those channel for Rs.65 why can't sun direct provide it with the same cost?If you are not going to change the price of it then i am sure that no even 1% of the subscriber will recharge this channel.See the subscribers reaction in the forum.

If any customers go to consumer court then really both the parties SD and ESPN will change their attitude.
Do u think that many people will subscribe to those channel if you people will charge Rs.120 for 3 channels?
I am really happy to see the those channel in my list but when i heard the news of it.I was really shocked.
My humble request to SD people please reverse the price of it.Otherwise many customers including me will report to TRAI.when ESPN mentioned their rates in their website publically it is very much clear that you people want to loot money from your subscribers.
Even i know that you are not going to reply to this mail.But i am sure that you people will read about it.
