Since yesterday there's a fiber cut. The SMS was received indicating downtime, estimated time to fix and also another SMS received indicating service restored.
But the LOS is blinking RED. No internet.
So I raised an SR and while I am not complaining about downtime the date of engg visit is set at 11-May-23 5PM.
6 days from now.
This is ridiculous. I have escalated to [email protected] let's see if they have any solution

my bad...
anyways i guess they must have just appointed the date by default a week later or something usually even major fiber cuts are spliced within 2-3 days.... and weather also isnt that bad in pune rn ig

it's just a bad coincidence that the cable fault at airtel and on terrace of our building happened at the same time.
airtel has fixed the fiber cut but the specfic cable that runs from junction box to my house on terrace is also damaged.
see how badly the box is managed by airtel

This is bad.... Good luck bro

Some technicians twist and turn fibers so badly and make it a mess and then say "-30 dbm tak chal jata hai sir" just because they don't want to do a good job

@rohitks The work on the fibre is outsourced to a local contractor, it's not done directly by Airtel. In my building it's as neat as can be..ditto for TPF/TPBB.

In my building the fiber work is done by Airtel themselves and ethernet work was outsourced to Sterlite whos contract has already ended and hence airtel is pushing everyone to switch to fiber.
After a lot of deliberation finally they have closed and locked the boxes. At least better than leaving them open. poorly routed cables is still an issue and mine is spliced at two different places along the way. Thankfully i get -23db power
