1gbps must come down to ₹2000 per month. Current rates of ₹3600 and ₹3999 from TataPlay and Jio are bonkers. Jio seems to be the costliest when it comes to upper tier plans. Hopefully Excitel paves a way for cheaper plans.

I think in India plans should change a bit (Which I'm sure will happen once Jio launches 2 Gig plan probably next or after next year). I'm saying this for big players like Jio, Airtel, Tata etc. (All plans I'm mentioning are GST excluded).

Base plan from all providers should be 100 Mbps for 499₹ per month.
200 Mbps - 699₹ Per month
300 Mbps - 999₹ Per Month
500 Mbps - 1499₹ Per month
1 Gbps - 2999₹ Per Month
2 Gbps - 4999₹ Per Month

Data Should be unlimited but if not the FUP should be as follows -

100 Mbps plan - 3300 GB
200 Mbps plan - 4000 GB
300 Mbps plan - 5000 GB
500 Mbps plan - 6000 GB
1 Gbps plan - 10000 GB
2 Gbps plan - 15000 GB

As well as Wifi 6 routers for security deposit or free if taken for 3+ Months.

Let me know what you guys think & how our plans should change in next 2-4 Years...

Isn't it a co-incidence we are talking about approximately the same thing 😅

Also @tatyasky how's your experience with Tata's 1Gbps plan. Do you still have it? Offcourse as you've mentioned you think it's overpriced but do you think speeds to international servers as well as content streaming platforms, game launchers, torrents etc. Are proper 1Gbps or it's just a gimmick to nearest server for Speedtests only? I mean do you think 1Gbps is worth it as per the current service (downtime, fluctuations, international speeds, local speeds etc.)

Also let us know if you have something else to say about it. As you've mentioned it should cost around 2k per month. Why do you think that? Are you saying that for current level of service or improved services?

So, I was thinking if shifting to excitel just to test the waters here, since I didn't get feedback from anybody in the Mumbai region, this is plan list he gave me.

Inclusive of Gst.

Apparently they are also doing an introductory offer for the 300Mbps for 167INR pm for 1st 3 months, effectively costing INR 590.
Plus free installation and refundable deposit of 2000 for the ONU.

I'm enticed to go for it. There's no news for the OTT, they said it will be around within the next 2 months.

@havoc

My 1 Gbps experience has been really decent. I don’t torrent. Most direct downloads hit 1 Gbps mark (950 Mbps actual speed). That is because I use IDM to download with 8 streams. I also received 30% discount on my 1 Gbps plan which was great offer back in Aug 2021. In 9 months of usage, net has been down 4-5 times for 3-4 hrs each time. Fiber was never cut but some server issue or maintenance downtime. Jio on the other hand at my office had just 1 downtime of 4 hrs in 7 months.

Does Excitel have static IPv6 implementation? Do they allow bridge mode like Tata Play FTTH & Airtel?

I would rate Jio highly for reliability and they have done 5 port forwards (mapped external server’s ports) for IP cameras. Someone said only 3 port forwards are allowed, But I have even managed to get Remote Desktop ports forwarded. Haha.

With Tata Play, we are locked to static IPv6 with no chance of IPv4 port forwards or mapping like Jio.

Strange... Plans are different from what they've mentioned on their website. Edit - Oops plans are mentioned with GST 😅

Which plan do you think you're gonna take? 300 Mbps one with 3 month offer?

Seems good to me. Hope companies will improve their backend infrastructure so they can provide 1Gig & above plans in the future. I like Jio in terms of their services. Offcourse I hate them for their shady practices + less than actual speeds. But wherever they take their fiber they provide 30 Mbps - 1Gbps. Unlike airtel to expand crazily with LCO model with Max 300 Mbps. Also Tata play fiber is amazing they're in my area since 2018.

Sadly no :(

Airtel is expanding a lot with LCO model, but their service is good, downtimes etc. My previous LCO and current LCO both told me Airtel only allows them to use Nokia based infrastructure(OLTs and other equipments) whereas excitel uses Syrotech OLTs which I dont think are anywhere near while comparing with Excitel. Jio uses the same infrastructure but their wiring across the city is much more stable with thick fiber cables with multicore.
