Hi, i am from Chennai. have been a long term user of Airtel. Their service is quite good but their last mile wiring has deteriorated probably due to cost cutting. They used to provide an underground cable to the house and a box in the premises from which the wire is run to the inside of the house. this was also shielded by pvc ducts. This is no longer followed. There is a common box in the street itself from which cables run openly to the house. Service complaints used to be attended within 4 hours. if not we used to get a credit of 100 rs. This is not done anymore. Now in my area the resolution of complaint is within 12 hrs. Airtel also follows a trick of calling the registered mobile no.when the time for resolution is about to expire and saying that we were not reachable and can we send the technician now. When you accept it is again 12 hrs from that point. To. be honest it has happened only once. They had a major cable fault due to road cutting.
Regarding the broadband i have no complaints. their bandwidth is always slightly higher than stated. if you are close to the exchange or node you could get speeds upto 16Mbps. Airtel now charges for the data and not the speed. Their retention plans for long term customers are very good and is difficult to say no.
hope this long reply helps
@sukumar_p55 Thanks a lot for the review friend. I was once an Airtel user, but i was a Corporate user and everything was attended very quickly. Just want to know how it is nowadays.
