This season of Fargo will follow Rock’s character Loy Cannon, the head of an African-American crime family that has entered into a tenuous truce with the Italian mob. As part of the truce, both families trade sons, and in typical Fargo fashion, lots of things don’t go the way they were planned.

While most of the show’s previous three seasons were limited to the northern regions of the United States, especially around Minnesota, this season takes place in Kansas City. Kansas City and its gangsters have long been around the fringes of the Fargo universe. In the show’s second season, Bokeem Woodbine’s memorable and terrifying Mike Milligan was an enforcer for a Kansas City crime syndicate, and it looks like in this season we might finally get a look at their history.
