FASTag, GNSS and Toll Tax

Thread title makes it look as if Paytm introduced FASTags. Whereas its the otherway round. NHAI introduced them back in April and now have partnered with Paytm.

Paytm FASTag launched! – Paytm Blog

The Paytm FASTag — which is a simple and reusable tag based on radio-frequency identification technology (RFID) that can be placed on a vehicle’s windscreen — enables electronic toll fee collection on highways across the country. What is FASTag
• The Paytm FASTag is a simple & reusable tag based on radio-frequency identification (RFID) technology.
• Each tag is linked to a registered Paytm Wallet to facilitate automatic deduction of toll charges.

How it Works
• Buy Paytm FASTag and affixed it on Vehicle s windshield
• Enter dedicated FASTag lane at any NHAI toll Plaza
• Gate opens automatically and you pass like a VIP
• Amount gets automatically debited from your Paytm wallet
• 7.5% cashback will be credited at end of the month

Delivery and activation Process
• Buy Paytm FASTag and you will receive a message to upload the vehicle details.
• Post verification of the uploaded details, FASTag will be shipped to you.
• FASTag will be mapped directly to the mobile number which is used during order placement.

Additional Details
• This program is part of the National Electronic Toll Collection (NETC) initiative rolled out by NPCI under the guidelines of NHAI & IHMCI
• FASTag is presently operational at more than 350 toll plazas across national highways, more city and state plazas will be on-board in future

I don't remember if it came with the car when I purchased it 4-5 years ago. I assume it was attached by the service center in the recent years. Is this the fasttag nfc tag? Does not seem like it.
