After due considerations I've narrowed down to two devices:
1. Garmin Vivofit Fitness Band for Rs. 5499 on flipkart + Heart Rate Monitor for Approx 6k from eBay GEB. Total is approx 12k
2. Moto 360 for 18k

Moto 360 makes sense because it'll include a Fitness Tracker along with Heart Monitor + one of the best smart watch around
The Garmin Vivofit however offers superb battery life [lasts for over a year] but the heart rate monitor has to be worn separately and is not a typical smart watch

What's your take or are there any other alternatives for around the same price ?

Microsoft Band is good but sadly not available in India

to be honest, getting it through import services might still be cheaper than what they could price it in india if they indeed launch it!
get quotes from ibhejo and ishop international and see if it makes sense!
