A major update has been released today apparently.

This is a full feature native android app. Supports for all the basic functionalities and more.

1) Easily navigate through different departments to find products
2) Search for products, categories or brands using text, voice or even by barcode
3) Quickly narrow your search using Sort and Filter functions
4) View product image up close with the zoom feature
5) Read reviews that other users have written about different products
6) Pay by Cash on Delivery, Credit/Debit Cards, EMI and NetBanking
7) Track status of items in your order
8) View recently browsed products and their details even when network not available
9) Share links to interesting products with friends through SMS, Gmail, Facebook, Twitter, Google+ etc.
10) Access your existing Flipkart account and saved user details

It requires a lot of excessive permissions for what is basically a web view. This is just another attempt to get user data. I just uninstalled it from my phone and tablet.

Looks like a native app. Product pages though feel like web pages.

I was able to login just fine using Google account. I use the same on desktop.

OK. Mine is a Flipkart account. I think this has something to do with a longer password or some special characters.
