doesn't seem like something that would cause too much loss. 200 units basically means minimal usage for a small family. people consuming around this limit would need to start conserving. should benefit the weakest section of the society. at least in theory. which is never a bad idea considering how social welfare schemes fail to reach them.

subsidy was better option and its announcement when elections are so close.

Overall political situation of India is f**ked without any hope. Too much divide in society and they elect politicians who continue to exploit them even more.

It feels like everyone is becoming more conservative and regressive.
