I have MTNL broadband connection. Every day, in the morning, when I start the ADSL router, the DSL, Internet and all lights come on as normal. However, after 2 minutes, the DSL and Internet lights just go off. This happens every 2 minutes each morning since past 15 days. I have lodged complaints with 1504 daily, and everyday, they give me a ticket number and they also state that they are resetting or receiving the session. Would any experts know what they mean by that? Also, after about 20 minutes to an hour, the connection starts working smoothly without any interruptions or breakdowns. Again, next day, the same thing is repeated. Is there a permanent solution to this? Unfortunately, in my area, MTNL is the only broadband service provider, so I have no choice, but to use it. Earlier, in some other area, I had used Airtel, and it worked very well without a glitch even if the ADSL router was on 24x7.Would request you to help me by letting me know how to overcome this problem. I do not have any telephones connected to the line, before the splitter. Thanks.

Mention modem model/make always in your post/or new thread.
Are you using a Voltage stabilser ? In Mumbai not needed, I think .
Say Thread title :GLB502-T intermittent connections
when we search in Google " GLB502-T 'this forum link can appear on top.

Check ADSL status for SNR/Attn/Line speed Mod selected.

In your modem uncheck adsl2 and adsl2+ as mod and try.

A similar thing happened to me yesterday. First time restarting the machine did the trick, second time it didn't help, I had to end my internet usage for the day :frown::frown::frown:. But in my case it's unpredictable.

Modem model I have is UTStarcom UT300R2U. The problem is still there, though only in the morning. At times too, I have abandoned using the internet for the day.Today, my call got escalated and I received a call from the exchange. The person there, asked me to put off my modem, did some checks and came back saying that the attenuation in the line was high. I informed him that the linesman had changed something at the junction box in November, which was corroded. However, for 2 weeks after that I enjoyed uninterrupted service, but then, this problem of frequent disconnects started. As suggested by the exchange, the linesman, was asked to change the cable pair, but am still to verify the impact of this action. In my opinion, I will try out the switch between ADSL2 and ADSL2+ as suggested in above post, tomorrow, if the connection does not start off at first go. Else, I will call 1504. Not much choice if you got only one service provider in your area na?

Followed advice of Essbebe on disabling ADSL2+ in the ADSL router. After that have been enjoying uninterrupted connection. This I did after the problem resurfaced even though linesman visited and talked about the line still being okay, and a call to 1504 just gave me a ticket number. The connection is now under observation for any breaks.By the way, it logically makes sense for MTNL not to put unlimited plan users on ADSL2+. Anyway, they restrict your download and upload speeds to 256kbps only. Now. the problem is resolved. Thanks.

I've been having serious disconnection problems people.According to my log its disconnection almost every minute for a couple of hours then if I leave it on it eventually becomes stable and then does the disconnection thing agian.Checked my line stats and they seem ok though I noticed that just before disconnection the snr goes to something like -7 and stuff:OAny ideas...The linesman came once and said its a power adapter problem and tried to sell me one that was in his bag....Didn't change my adapter though.Could it be because of the heat in the modem/??

This looks more like the glitch we had when we were 'promoted' to 'upto 2mbps'. I had to write to the ED to get my problem resolved. Speak to the DE for your area, usually they are a receptive bunch.:D. When many people complain they will wake up to the fact that there is a problem

i've been facing some very low SNR too.. although it would come back to normal after a while. sometimes it keeps fluctuating and goes to a very low value.. this has been happening for past 2 or 3 days.. observed it twice already..mostly a temporary problem im presuming..

hmm, dunno if my prob is similar too or no but since this saturday the dsl light of my wag200g adsl-wifi router keeps going on/off for atleast 15mins when i 1st start the router. the dsl light normally turns on and waits for the internet light to turn on. which doesnt and then the dsl light goes off, starts blinking and performs the same cycle again and again. how do i confirm if this is a router prob or just mtnl acting up again?
