Well ,I am also facing the same issue.I got a GLB-802C modem.the problem with the 5 minutes disconnection and reconnection for my BSNL dataone line is traced to be the problem with the broadband port which is alloted to my line in exchange.the real solution is to ask them to rectify the port problem.
EDIT: actually my router 802C shiyat was the culprit!HUH!

Since you are using the latest D-Link modem, I am curious to know your opinion about its reliability, ease of setting up & time of usage :) and price paid, as my neighbour is thinking of buying one & returning the MTNL piece.

I was the first customer for digicom(kerala distributor) in kerala for this modem. It works great.no problemo.even observed a slightly better BB speed than my earlier Huawei/utstarcom CPE's given by BSNL.
It costed me Rs1600 5-6 months back when I bought this modem.

Another reason I am probing is the Atheros L2 onboard ethernet card which is arguably not having proper stable drivers.Do you have this card?
^This was my Original post.I am editing to WARN/CAUTION every one that GLB-802C is one of the worst router's.the problem is with the router.
I had my review at mouthshut.com .please go through it:

Please go through it before buying this 802C router.
Thanks!

A Separate Splitter comes with this router.router is very much recommended if you are not into wireless routers.;)--Today ,I bought a realtek 8139(compex RE100ATX) based lan card.I am supposing this resolved my disconnection problem(placebo effect?) .anyways ,no DSL light goes off problem till now.

ok on topic....the entire last night my wag200g adsl-wifi router cudnt connect to the net. the dsl light comes on steady and then in 10 secs goes off, starts blinking and becomes steady again.this cycle continued for over 2hrs and i had rebooted the router around 3 times, during those 2hrs.but it never connected to the net ie.the dsl light and internet light on router never became (and remained) steady, at the same time.infact, the internet light never turned on.so today morning i restored my router to factory defaults.after restoration, the dsl light remained steady and didnt blink at all.coz i think someone here was saying that after restoring if the dsl light doesnt blink and remains steady then thats a good sign and the router is fine.then i setup the router again using its cd for mtnl and fed all the remaining wifi/security settings.its now running fine and i have rebooted the router twice and it connected both the times in the first try to the net.but after 30mins the router again disconnected me from the net and started the process all over again.was anyone else here facing continuous connection probs initially after starting the router and got it to work after a factory default restore?plz note that this prob starting happening all of a sudden since last saturday evening and the net/router was working fine before that.is there anyway to confirm that the prob IS NOT with the router and is only being caused by mtnl triband?plz help.

My problem is solved just now.the lady in-charge changed the broadband port to a new one.then they changed the port binding.BINGO!now everything is OK.:thumb:EDIT:this is wrong!I was wrong.all thanks to furking glb-802C modem.it sucks!never buy!
