The team behind GameStick hope to accelerate the race to change the face of big screen gaming with the launch of the most portable, affordable, dedicated TV gaming device on the market priced at just $79.

GameStick is a small yet powerful, dedicated games console that plugs directly into a TV’s HDMI slot and comes with a fully featured Bluetooth controller – ready to go right out of the box. When on the move, the two combine into a single unit, putting big screen gaming right into the pocket. The device will be compatible with other Bluetooth controllers enabling true multi-player functionality.

I am not sure whats revolutionary in this. Android sticks have been available since long now. and you can use any bluetooth game controller like the one on the PS3.

I plan to get this in a couple of months:
UG802 II Android 4.1.1 Google TV Player w/ Wi-Fi / Bluetooth v3.1 / 1GB RAM / 8GB ROM - Black - Worldwide Free Shipping - DX

There are cheap controllers available as well:
Rechargeable Bluetooth V2.1 Wireless DoubleShock SIXAXIS Controller for PS3 - Black + Orange - Worldwide Free Shipping - DX

should be fun for casual gaming. not to forget emulating Nintendo, SEGA etc. games like contra and mario.

GameStick reveals final backer-aided design, dock for peripherals

A docking station is also in the cards, which enables a whole mess of peripherals via USB, HDMI, and ethernet ports -- it's powered separately, so you can charge your GameStick controller without having to turn on the console. You can also charge your controller on it wirelessly, according to PlayJam. All said, it's got one ethernet port, a full size SD card reader, three USB ports, and three HDMI ports (one out, two in), and comes as part of an option $109 bundle on the Kickstarter page.
