Google acquires Pixel team from HTC

I think the majority chunk of that money might be for the non-exclusive use of HTC technology.

Need to check how much did Google Pay for acquiring Motorola.

they are not even launching budget segment pixels. if the idea is to have something that compete solely against an iPhone. google is wasting their time. pixel is not taking away buyers of latest iPhones. people who cannot afford latest iphones just buy a 1 gen or 2 gen (even 3 gen) old iphone.
 
Its a mystery why they didnt just flat out buy HTC. HTC has some design companies which it acquired to design M8. M9 and those were beautiful designs
