I was trying the Nexus Toolkit, it does not yet recognize the nexus 7. Device manager shows Samsung Nexus as the driver, I used google driver.

Plus, it is not unlocked, I guess the OTA can be only sideloaded if it is unlocked. If I unlock now I'll loose data, which I do not mind, but I have couple of pdf books with DRM, if the device is wiped it is a pain to again ask for a licence key and reinstall these books.

I lost a $250 book with my ipad when upgraded to iOS8, asking the publisher for another key has fallen in deaf ears.

So even OTA on my nexus can kill the DRM authorisation, but wiping will sure to kill it.

Don't know why some publishers do not use Amazon/Google books and rely on stupid DRMs.

Awesome, don't know but I fiddled with it, and now it is being updated as I write. :)

EDIT: Updated and running Lolipop! Thanks Nishant for the heads up !

How do I get out of the situation where the phone displays a dead android with a red triangle with exclamation mark in its stomach. :D

Long press volume down + power until you get boot loader menu. Navigate to reboot to system option using volume (as touch is disabled on this screen), press power to select. Phone will boot to system.
