I am using it regularly to transfer photos.
100-200MBs photos are sent within minute.
Even 1 GB photos are sent in 2-3 minutes.

i am using it to share movies with friends, 3-4 GB movies are sent in 5-6 minutes

Maybe P2P transfers are done at higher speed rates. Doing transfers on Wifi LAN through a router in the middle might be slowing it down.
